Property Factors (Scotland) Act 2011

The Property Factors (Scotland) Act 2011 is due to come into force on 1st October 2012. The main purpose of this new piece of legislation is 'to provide a greater level of protection for homeowners in Scotland who receive services from property factors'.

Combined Standard Clauses (2011) Edition

The most up-to-date version of the Combined Standard Clauses is now operational, and with effect from January 2012 will be utilised by Archibald Campbell & Harley in the purchase of virtually all residential properties. These replace the 2009 Edition, with a number of relatively minor updates and points of clarification.

Power of Attorney Registration Update

Since Spring of this year we have become increasingly aware of the length of time that it is taking the Office of the Public Guardian to register Powers of Attorney which have been submitted to them. In the past, it was usual to receive the registered Power of Attorney back within approximately two to three weeks of it being sent off. It is now taking around twelve weeks for the process to be completed.
