Louise joined Archibald Campbell & Harley in March 2005 to specialise in planning and environmental law having practised general civil litigation at another firm in Edinburgh. Since then, she has appeared at over 30 Inquiries, many of which were into major wind farm and commercial developments, for example the Trump Organisation's proposal to create a golf resort in Aberdeenshire. In addition to appearing at Inquiries, Louise also appears at Hearings and deals with Appeals by way of written submission.

She acts across the range of planning issues for developers, objectors and statutory consultees. She has considerable experience in Nature Conservation Law and European legislation, particularly the Birds and Habitats Directives and the Habitats Regulations. She is very familiar also with EIA considerations. Louise also advises upon all aspects of compulsory acquisition and, in that respect, she has appeared before the Lands Tribunal.

Louise's practice is not confined to contentious planning matters. She negotiates and drafts Section 75 and Section 69 Agreements and planning conditions. She has also advised upon Private Bills procedures into major infrastructure projects. Commercially astute and pragmatic, Louise's focus and technical knowledge have resulted in a client base in both the public and private sectors which continues to expand. She is a member of UKELA and contributes articles to SPEL.
